Byron Bay Summer Open

The BJJ Summer Australian Open competition took place over a week ago down in Byron Bay. Galeb Brothers BJJ had a big turnout of competitors and this time we had the chance to meet some students from Galeb Brothers BJJ Rouse Hill & Baulkham Hills (our Sydney affiliations) and the boys dominated their divisions.

Apart from our adult students doing extremley well at the competiton. We had our dream team of black belts compete in a team format style competition against Southside BJJ. After 5 matchups of back and forth action, there was no clear winner and it was called a draw. Quite the let down for the fans, but both teams are set to face each other again early in 2021. That should be a very exciting rematch to decide the winner!!

Our kids had some great success also, showing great heart and determenation. We are always very proud of our kids & junior students for stepping out and competing. Whether they win or lose, they are champions on and off the mats and thats what BJJ is all about.

A big thank you and congratulations as always to our competitiors and spectators for supporting each other on the day. We have a great team atmosphere on competition day and thats what makes our team so special.

The last comp for the year is this weekend at Carrara Indoor Stadium, we hope to see all of our students and families showing up in the team t-shirt to support each other!! It will be a great day. Good luck to all competitiors. Osss
