UAEJJF Australian Pro & Europe Continental Pro

Professor Fabio led the team down to Sydney over the weekend to compete in the UAEJJF Australian National Pro. We had a total of 7 competitors head down for the competition. Although the team was small, the results were amazing.

Professor Fabio came away with double gold, winning all of his fights via submission. Continuing to dominate every time he steps on the mat. Professor Renan debuted in his very first black belt competition, unfortunately he didn't get the result he was after, but going out and testing himself against the most elite black belts of Australia was a big achievement in itself.

Coach Shane hasn't competed in over a year, after coming back from knee surgery and now the head coach of our Helensvale academy, Shane still managed to find time to balance work, teaching and training. Hard work has paid off as he fought very hard and walked away with the gold. Coach Alfred of Galeb Brothers Toowoomba had 3 tough fights to walk away with the bronze. Alfred had some great battles and worked very hard to make it to the podium, another example of balancing work, teaching and training to achieve his Jiu Jitsu goals.

Our stand out blue belt, Felippe Beltrao Martins from Gold Coast, continues to dominate his divisions in every competition he enters. After 4 fights, 2 points & 2 submission wins, Felippe earned another gold. Jess Page of Toowoomba had a stacked blue belt bracket to get through, unfortunately she lost a close match via 1 advantage. Another blue belt from Toowoomba, Emmanuel Fallah, won his first match via submission but fell short to make it any further in the stacked 69kg bracket.

Another competition this weekend, this time all the way over in Europe, Coach Paulo of Galeb Brothers Southside was also competing to test his skills at the UAEJJF Europe Continental Pro. After making his way to the final after some tough fights, he injured his knee and lost by 1 advantage. Awesome work, considering he was over there by himself. Congratulations Coach Paulo, representing the team.

We may not have had the biggest list of competitors competing at either competition, but we fought very hard and made sure we were noticed on the mat and podium. Congratulations to all, we are very proud to have you representing the Galeb Brothers BJJ team. We win or learn and lead by example at all times. Ossssss.
