Tokyo Grand Slam

Over the weekend the leader of Galeb Brothers BJJ, Professor Fabio Galeb and students Alfred, Lee and Emmanuel travelled to Japan to compete in the first Grand Slam of the 2018-2019 UAEJJF season. They all competed very well and had some amazing fights.

Professor Fabio won gold in his division and still holds his #1 spot in Australia & the Oceania region. However, he has jumped from #12 to now be ranked at #2 in the world. As always, he leads by example, proving he is among the elite best jiu jitsu black belts in the world. Amazing work Professor.

Also having a great day was our very own Korean warrior Dongwook Lee who almost made the podium, but unfortunately ended up in 4th place after 3 tough fights. 'Lee' as he known around the gym has recently moved to Japan and has ended his time with us in Australia. We wish nothing but the best for him in his future and hope to see him back training with us some day.

Alfred and Emmanuel from our Toowoomba academy had a great experience in Japan too. Unfortunately, Emmanuel lost in the second round. Alfred, was unable to compete due to injury. Always a great experience though, going out there and testing yourself in competition. Well done boys!
